Nil (in Komak’sa, west of Melora) is a relatively small island, on which there is only one city: the large, walled capital known as Nilla, situated in the northern half of Nil. Nilla is unique in that the area of the entire city is enchanted with a zone of silence spell. Visitors typically feel very uncomfortable in this atmosphere, but Nillan citizens appear to prefer the silence, and have developed their own sign language to adapt. Nillans tend to be very calm, peaceable people, for the utter silence is said to make them spiritually more in-tune with the universe.
The southern half of Nil is dominated by the Raenil Forest, wherein lies the Great Watering Hole, the largest freshwater lake in all of Komak’sa, where all animals and beasts of the forest come to conglomerate. Various lone buildings are also scattered over the landscape, inhabited by those who appreciate the silence of Nilla, but like to also have a more “normal” abode in which to spend part of their time.
